Downtown Tacoma
From Midtown lofts:
Walk, Hop and enjoy everything Tacoma has to offer.
Walk just two blocks to Broadway, where you will discover ample banking, dining and shopping opportunities, the Tacoma School of the Arts, as well as the site of the summer Farmers Market.
One block North puts you in the heart of The Theater District, known for its contribution to the performing arts. With theaters like the Pantages, and the Rialto, there is always a show to see. This neighborhood also boasts fine dining, fine jewelry and fine art, and is the site of Downtown’s Christmas Tree and New Years Eve Celebration, First Night.
Another block will take you to the Historic Antique Row on Broadway and St. Helens, between 9th and 7th. It is famous for its vast variety of vintage and antique goods. One block up sits Opera Alley one of Downtown’s oldest and newest districts. This little slice of Tacoma is a collection of beautifully restored buildings, retail shops and is anchored by a café, a yarn merchant and an interior décor shop. A stroll along St. Helen’s is like a step back in time to a more genteel era.
Is the convention in town? Head 1 block south on Broadway to the Tacoma Convention and Trade Center an area jam-packed with eateries, shops and businesses. From here you can also catch the 2nd to last stop on the convenient Link Light Rail to gain access to Museum Row, which houses some of the finest museums in the nation. Walk across the bridge and you will experience beautiful Chihuly glass along with spectacular views of Tacoma’s unique architecture.
Hop back on the Light Rail to the last stop, the Dome District, to find the Tacoma Dome & Exhibition hall and Freighthouse Square, a collection of 40+ retail shops and an incredible Food Court.
